The Beavers have numerous certified instructors in the club, and we take full advantage of our good fortune! Contact Carey Robson, Beaver Canoe Club Training Director at 604-437-1140 or by clicking here with any questions and to register for the clinics. The club does not supply boats, but Carey can direct you to rental businesses.  Our free skills clinics for members include:

·        Our Trip Leaders Clinic teaches you to be a responsible and effective trip leader or participant, both on Beaver trips and to make your own private trips run more smoothly and safely. Prerequisite - none.

·        Our Basic Paddlers program, which includes a classroom session and two full Saturday sessions on Deer Lake in Burnaby, leading successful participants to a Recreational Canoeing Association of British Columbia "Tandem Lakewater I" certification.  There is no prerequisite. Those participating in Basic Paddlers for a second year have an opportunity to develop their solo paddling skills and earn  Lakewater II certification. Pre

·        Our Intro to Moving Water includes both a classroom and a controlled river session, giving new moving water paddlers the basic skills they need to tackle their first easy river. Prerequisite: Basic Paddlers or equivalent experience.
