I'm setting up this forum topic for people who are interested in this outing - singles with or without boats can call for partners, etc. Post if you are thinking about it. Check back to see who else is.

We will meet at 9:00 AM at the parking lot nearest the Deep Cove Canoe & Kayak rental building. Directions follow:
- Freeway to North Vancouver.
- Exit to the East on either of Mount Seymour Parkway or Dollarton Highway and drive across North Van.
- From Mount Seymour Parkway turn left on Deep Cove Road at the bottom of a short, steep downhill.
- Dollarton Hwy goes East then curves North and dumps straight onto Deep Cove Road, keep on straight ahead.
- Follow Deep Cove Road to the end, bearing right at the village of Deep Cove.
- At the very end of Deep Cove Road turn right on Banbury Road (which is pretty much your only option anyway).
- Continue on 1 block, left at Naughton Ave, immediate right into the parking lot.

North of Deep Cove and Belcarra Park is an 18 km long fjord waiting to be explored. There are different options, depending on the group; paddle from Deep Cove to Jug Island and Bedwell Bay or to Twin Islands for a picnic. This is a good trip for people who have just completed Basic Paddlers. Canoes can be rented at Deep Cove.

HiTed,
Thanks for leading the trip. How long will the trip be?
We have two kids, 7 and 2 years old. Need to plan ahead.

The basic trip I propose is a series of hops of 1/2 to 3/4 hour each, Deep Cove to Jug Island, peek into Bedwell Bay, up to Twin Islands, cross back to the West side, and shore crawl back to Deep Cove. Lots of opportunities to land and stretch, have a bite to eat, etc. Time on the water would be less than 3 hours total, time on land another 1.5 hours or so. Probably back at Deep Cove around 2:00 - 2:30 PM.

However, there is lots of water and things to see in Indian Arm, and I am flexible - we could easily extend this itinerary if the group wants to go further.
